Bluestone River Band
Bluestone River Band Stories of life, love & darkness. This 5 piece alt/country group from the windswept coast of Warrnambool, Victoria have been quietly amassing an impressive catalog of original songs that are sure to catch the ears music fans far and wide. Fueled by the restless pen of chief songwriter and lead singer Joe Gardner (Red Eagle, Gullies, solo) the band’s debut single, recorded at Koroit’s Old Elk Studio, shows the band know a thing or two about crafting a fine tune.
“I Never Want To Be Alone “ is a soulful rocker with rich harmonies and a satisfying country twang that hangs around long after the final chord has wrung out. The group’s well-honed harmonies melding with layered mandolin and fuzz guitar produce intriguing dynamics. Think the results of a studio session by The Band produced by The Black Keys at Abbey Road.
The band’s early incarnation as a trio with Cobey Fletcher (mandolin, banjo, guitar and vocals) and Jimmi Buscombe (guitar and vocals) joining Gardner quickly gathered momentum as the guys love of vocal harmony drew in bass player and vocalist Derrick Price. When Price reached out to drummer Henry Bird as the reverb still hung in the air over the band’s first live show, a new course was set. With a driving rhythm section propelling the once acoustic campfire band into the realms of main stage draw cards, Bluestone River Band will have you spilling your beer as you grab your mates in a teary hug.*
